Her split from fiancé Liam Hemsworth was confirmed earlier this week amid a slew of yet more criticism for her risqué performance at last month's VMAs.
So it was a rather defiant Miley Cyrus who sauntered about Las Vegas wearing nipple pasties beneath an entirely see-through fishnet dress after she took the stage at the iHeart Radio Music Festival on Saturday.
Having seemingly paid no attention to the multitude of negative publicity which surrounded her performance at MTV's prestigious awards ceremony, the 20-year-old donned the bizarre outfit after she twerked, poked out her tongue and touched herself during the show.

The attention-grabbing ensemble left little to the imagination as her miniscule underpants and black leather nipple pasties were as clear as day underneath the piece of broad-netted fabric.
It's unclear what exactly Miley was going for with this particular outfit, which she topped with a set of furry white sleeves.
The top half of her white dress looked much like a hospital-inspired neck brace, whereas her heavy black chain and leather boots and black nipple accessories seemed to spell out somewhat of a bondage theme.

The star let her roaming tongue fly yet again, showcasing her interesting variation of a wink-face.
It was in this outfit that the young pop star shared a hug with Britney Spears, who recently spoke out in Miley's defense.
The Toxic singer declared that she herself recalls what it was like to be in Miley's position, saying that the youngster is 'just a ball full of energy.'

Predictably, Miley was also flashing the flesh in her earlier performance at the large-scale music festival, sporting a two-piece laced corset style ensemble which exposed her flat tummy and trim figure.
The star put extra energy into the performance, days after Hunger Games star Liam was pictured kissing actress Eiza González.
At one point, she provocatively caressed the bottom of a female dwarf back up dancer in a move clearly designed to shock.

Ever the professional, the platinum blonde star pranced around the stage, at one point throwing a bright pink bra into the audience as she pranced around alongside dancers dressed as giant mushrooms.
And Miley ramped up the raunchiness of her performance despite the presence of her mother Tish at the side of the stage.
The star was recently forced to defend herself after she was slammed by critics for her antics with a foam finger alongside Robin Thicke onstage at last month's VMAs.
